Columbus Day

Notepads for Columbus Day/ Indigenous Peoples' Day Bulletin Board Decor and Craft Projects

Columbus Day commemorates the landing of Christopher Columbus in the Americas on October 12, 1492. It is celebrated on the second Monday of October and historically recognizes the arrival of Christopher Columbus in North America. Nowadays, this holiday has become an opportunity to discuss concepts of history, exploration and different perspectives with students in age appropriate ways.

The holiday has also become known as Indigenous Peoples’ Day, which commemorates the heritage of Native American people, and is often celebrated alongside Columbus Day or in place of it. It is a day to recognize the strength and relisience of the indigenous communities and celebrate the cultures, traditions and contributions of Native people in the United States today. Indigenous People's Day can also be a lead in to Native American Heritage Month which is celebrated a few weeks later during the month of November.

This collection mostly features notepads in varying designs that can be used to teach kids about Columbus Day as well as the Native American people. Native American themed notepads, Ships and world maps round out the collection.
